About Atwater
“Community Pride, Community Wide” is the motto of the small town of Atwater, California. Located on California State Route 99 in
Merced County, residents of Atwater pride themselves on being a part of the powerful history hidden within the walls of its famed Castle Air Museum, and the ground beneath their feet. Historically, the town came into its own with the adoption of the railroad in the 1870’s, and with the construction of its first post office, which opened in 1880. While the economics of this city are heavily rooted in agriculture, Atwater is doing a fine job of assisting and cultivating new business from all industries. Named after Marshall D. Atwater, a rancher whose land was used by the railroad to build its station, this city continues to grow and still glows with warmth and welcome. Students of Atwater homes attend schools from Atwater Elementary School District, Merced City School District, Merced Union High School District, or one of the four private schools located within the city limits. Offering exceptional schools, a sense of community and growing residential development, Atwater real estate is becoming increasingly desirable. Our
