Marquise grew up in North Carolina and attended North Carolina Wesleyan College, where he studied business administration. He was an elite high school and college varsity football player with aspirations of an NFL career, but a sports injury resulting in two fractured vertebrae ended his hopes of one. He felt his life come to a standstill, but Marquise hardly so much as stumbled. While taking an impromptu trip to California with a friend, he couldn’t ignore the beauty and energy of the state nor his completely transformed outlook. The brief hiatus turned into permanent residency in 2006, and he realized he didn’t need to be a part of the NFL to have a successful career. Despite his rerouted goals, he continues to use his sports mentality to drive who he is today: “Do your best. Be your best.”
Marquise’s interest in real estate began when he worked in the Bay Area banking industry, where he quickly ascended the ranks and learned more about the business by processing home loans. Perhaps for the first time since his injury, he rekindled his excitement and motivation — this time, about real estate. As an agent, his trusting demeanor assists buyers in defining their vision of the perfect home and helps sellers express the reasons behind their moves and what their futures look like.
