Pepperwood Grove is a fascinating stand of hardwood trees also known as bay or laurel. It is located on the eastern shore of Clear Lake in a small cove. People have always been drawn to this, and a subdivision with small vacation homes with piers was built here decades ago. Most of the piers have been removed now, and the homes in the subdivision are infrequently used. At the edge of this is the Pepperwood Ranch, named after the gigantic bay tree on site that must be one of the largest pepperwoods in the world. The base is over 6 feet in diameter. The current owner removed the older improvements and built the current 2bd, 2 ba home here in 2014. It has barely been used so they have decided it's time to sell. The 231 acres stretches from the edge of Clear Lake to the top of Pine Mountain. Year round springs and shade attract a lot of wildlife, deer and turkeys are always around. The further up the property you go, the better the views get. The top is very steep, but if you are up to the hike this is one of the only points in Lake County that you can see from one end of Clear Lake to the other.
